Michael Bouciquot is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (IMT2283). He received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Florida International University and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Thomas University. He is also a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Michael began working with children as a school teacher in 2005. He decided to obtain a Master’s degree teaching at a school for Juvenile delinquents, realizing his passion for helping adolescents and their families. For the past five years, he was a Special Education teacher. He taught students with learning and emotional disabilities. Mr. Bouciquot has a Certification in Exceptional Student Education. Michael is a Board Member of the South Broward/North Dade Chapter of CHADD.
Michael is committed to providing a safe nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their feelings. His clients will learn about the issues they are dealing with in order to grow and transition into who they would like to be. He believes therapy is a collaborative process where he and his clients set attainable goals and achieve success through different therapeutic techniques such as solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and narrative therapy.
Michael has experience in individual therapy with adolescents and adults, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, anger management, goal setting, life transitions, couples, and family therapy. Helping his clients to develop communication skills is one of his specialties.
