Cassandra Cacace is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (IMT 3184). She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of South Carolina and received her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University (NSU).
Cassandra enjoys learning and helping others. As a result, she decided to continue her education and is pursuing a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from NSU.
Ms. Cacace works with a wide range of clients, including individuals, couples, and families. She has extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults who struggle with mental health and the transition into adulthood. Cassandra utilizes art techniques with her clients as a way to safely explore problems and solutions, to heal from painful experiences, and to explore meaning. She believes art and creativity are important ways of expression, especially when it’s hard to put something into words.
Cassandra also has a special interest in working with healthcare professionals and first responders who experience mental health symptoms, burnout, and relational concerns as a result of their emotionally demanding jobs. She believes healthcare professionals and first responders work tirelessly to help others. Cassandra ultimately plans on doing research in this sector with the hopes of advocating for healthcare professionals’ and first responders’ wellbeing.
Additional Affiliations: Cassandra is a Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and Delta Kappa International Marriage and Family Therapy Honor Society. She currently works with the Promise Program, an innovative school-based therapy program geared toward reducing the school-to-prison pipeline in Broward County. The program has seen much success and has reduced the recidivism rate from 50 to 8 percent. While these numbers are revealing, Cassandra believes the real reward to working with adolescent who come from all backgrounds with unique experiences and challenges.
Cassandra works collaboratively with her clients and values creating a judgment-free space for client to explore and creatively find solutions that work for them. Cassandra utilizes Solution-Focused and Narrative approach, and integrates other systemic modalities.
